A Conference Focusing on the Job, Employment and Equity Impacts of Cap-and-Trade Programs. Cap and trade is a key climate change policy tool being proposed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in California, the United States, and around the world. This conference will explore the design options within cap and trade programs that shape outcomes on jobs, employment and equity. Presenters will include leading policy makers, economists, labor leaders, environmental justice advocates, and others.
Topics will include: Cap and trade overview; Job leakage and other possible economic and job impacts of cap and trade; Auctions versus free allowances; Green jobs, offsets, and climate justice.
