David W. Orr, one of the nation's leading environmental educators and board member of the Center for Ecoliteracy, will discuss his new book, Down to the Wire: Confronting Climate Collapse (Oxford University Press, 2009) in which he writes: "The effort to secure a decent human future, I think, must be built on the awareness of the connections that bind us to each other, to all of life, and to all life to come."

Orr is the Paul Sears Distinguished Professor of Environmental Studies and Politics at Oberlin College and a board member of the Center for Ecoliteracy.

This event is a benefit for the Center for Ecoliteracy's initiative, Smart by Nature: Schooling for Sustainability. Your tax-deductible ticket price will be used to support schooling for sustainability in underserved communities.
