THURDSAY March 26 2009 Rally and Press Conference
at the Israeli Consulate in SF
12:00 noon
Tristan Anderson remains in critical condition at Tel Hashorem in
Israel.
Friends of Tristan and Palestine is a group of activists, lawyers,
musicians, artists, and community members seeking justice for Tristan
and
Palestine. We demand that the state of Israel cover all of Tristan's
medical expenses, which are extensive. We need to hold the Israeli
military
accountable for Tristan's shooting.
On Monday March 16, 2009 a group of roughly 20 people gathered outside
the
Israeli consulate in a show of support for Tristan were violently
attacked
by police. 8 were wrongfully arrested. Many were beaten. One activist
was
taken in an ambulance to receive nine staples for a head injury from a
police baton.
We demand ALL CHARGES DROPPED for those arrested demonstrating on March
16. We demand accountability from the officers who were involved in the
attack. We feel confident that the video will show the politically
motivated nature of the arrests. The press will be invited to view video
and draw their own conclusions on the matter.
We will be gathering at the Israeli consulate at noon for speakers,
music,
and art. We will show videos of Tristan, as well as SFPD's attack on
protestors. We stand in solidarity with Palestine and support
self-determination and autonomy for all people. TBA performers musicians
spoken word performances etc. Please forward and distribute widely. See
you there.
