The program features the return of Signs and Wonders, originally commissioned by Dance Theatre of Harlem and recently named an American Masterpiece, in a moving piece that draws audiences into a world of evanescent ritual where the dancers devote themselves to the miracle of transformative movement. Signs and Wonders is set to indigenous drumming and vocals from myriad African tribes.
“Mr. King pays tribute to the wonders of creation with choreography filled with constant changes,” in the words of The New York Times. The season will also include a World Premiere set to the music of Arcangelo Corelli and Francis Poulenc and the return of the duet Splash.
