The convergence will include an Anarchist Bookfair, FreeSkool Conference, Workshops, Speakers, Discussions, Music, Games, and other events.
Santa Cruz will host its first ever Anarchist Bookfair, a two-day exposition of books, zines, pamphlets, art, film/video, and other cultural and political productions of the anarchist movement, on May 9th and 10th at SubRosa Infoshop.
The North American Free Skool Conference happens in conjunction with the Santa Cruz Anarchist Convergence. Activities include a Free Skool Community Picnic, panel and group discussions, and a campfire.
There will be three days of workshops, panels, and presentations from May 8th to 10th to provide further opportunities to learn more and share our own experience and creativity. Workshop tracks include Community Inter-relatedness, Green Scare/Security Culture, DIY infrastructure, Applied Anarchisms, and Resistance.
Additionally, there will be a kick-off performance event, shows, music, bike games, picnics, campfires, and skill-shares.
You Are Invited. The event starts with an all-day orientation May 7th at SubRosa Infoshop, followed that night with a Kick-Off performance event. Bring yourselves, your radical ideas, your passions, your comrades, and whatever you need to self-sufficiently take care of yourself and your crew. We will try to provide housing and food to those who need it.
Participate. If you are interested in speaking, or participating in a workshop, panel, or discussion, or if you would like to table at the anarchist bookfair, please contact us immediately at santacruzanarchist [at] riseup.net.
