Activism Right There, March 10, 2009 ~ UC Berkeley
Activism Right There is a celebration of the history of student activism at Cal from the 1960s through today. Last year we had over 2000 Cal students and community members gather in Zellerbach Auditorium for an inter-generational panel on the history of activism at Cal, followed by performances by some of the most highly acclaimed spoken word and community-based hip hop artists in the nation.
This year ART is a part of a week of events celebrating the 40th anniversary of the third world Liberation Front, the student movement that created the Department of Ethnic Studies and demanded that the university address the concerns of students and communities of color.
