Lawyer of Crooked Downey Toxic Site Developer Stuart Lichter Denies Threatening Injured IATSE Local 44 Movie Set Worker Leonard Martin
The Los Angeles lawyer David S. White representing crooked Downey toxic site developer Stuart Lichter has denied that he threatened injured IATSE Local 44 injured Downey worker Leonard Martin. Martin said he was called by a person sounding like White and was told "Where is my money? Do you have my $1,500.00? I want my money. Do you still have the boat? I want the boat for collateral. You better watch your ass."
Also Martin recalled a previous encounter with the lawyer during a deposition "In my Deposition on January 07, 2009, David S. white leaned forward toward me and talked to me in a very hostile voice and raised his voice to me. David S. White asked me about my boat and where it was kept. David S. White asked me about my family and where they lived. David S. White asked me about my daughter. I did not want to tell
David S. White but he told me that he is an Officer of the court and that he could get a court order to make me tell him so I told him what he wanted to know."
On March 3, 2009 memo to the court David S. White denied that he had made any threats against Leonard Martin and accused Martin of "abuse of the process" and that he was "totally delusional to the point of imagining things he claims of as having happened."
White has also been involved in a SLAPP lawsuit against Martin, another injured worker Burce Norrbom, a web site on Kaiserpapers.com Vicki Travis and Kaiser injured workers and former Congressional candidate Dina Padilla.
Former GSA employee Stuart Lichter has built an international empire buying former military toxic dump sites and promising to clean them up. Many workers and community people around the country have been sickened apparently by the failure of Lichter to properly clean up the sites. He has also sued people around the country to silence them when they raise health and safety concerns.
The California Coalition For Workers Memorial Day http://www.workersmemorialday.org has helped publicize the cases of the injured workers and the systemic corruption and collapse of protection by the EPA, DOD, OSHA and other agencies which are supposed to being protecting the health and safety of injured workers.
Kaiser hospital has also built a hospital complex on the Los Angeles area and the site was transferred by NASA to private developers and Kaiser to properly clean up as a privatized Downfield site. A deal was worked out probably by Congress person Lucille Robyball and signed off by the governor of California for the early transfer of the property. Injured workers on the highly toxic 160 acre site have brought numerous claims of workers compensation and other health and safety problems. Lichter sued IATSE Local 44 for threatening his business by letting union members know that they might be sickened by the site and paid $775,000 to Lichter's company Downey Studios for harming his business. They also agreed not to let workers know that there was health and safety problem on the site.
