“Revival of the Labor Movement in America: Are We Ready?”

Tuesday, March 17, 1 PM
Unitarian-Universalist Center, SF
1187 Franklin St. (at Geary Blvd)
Fireside Room. Free, wheelchair accessible

If you believe that a revitalized labor movement must be part of any “change” in our future, come to this SF Gray Panthers March Program.

Our panel:

* Earl Gilman, SFGP member, former chapter president of SEIU Local 535, Labor Council delegate, and involved with the Liverpool Dockers and Chilean Bank Workers Union. He will offer a worldwide overview of labor, including NAFTA;

* Kay McVay, past president of The California Nurses Association, speaking on positive changes in the CNA, and the struggle for universal single payer health care;

* Denis Mosgofian, past president Local 4-N of the Graphic Communications Conference (GCC) of the Teamsters Union, speaking on labor and the current economic crisis; and

* Michael Rubin from SEIU Member Activists for Reform Today (S.M.A.R.T.), the workers’ organization formed to oppose SEIU’s undemocratic tactics, discussing the urgent need for rank-and-file members to take back their unions.

Please join us.

i respect my Union elders but all of the speakers are retired . One retired almost 20 years ago and so his experences have to be pretty dated . Shouldn't there be at least a couple of much younger currently active union men or women on the panel ?
