This workshop will cover:
The complexities of consent-what is consent? why is consent important? how is it related to healthy communication? how does consent contribute to safe(r) spaces? to stronger radical communities? What are the connections between Intimate Violence and Social Justice? How do you support someone on and individual and community level that has been sexually assaulted? We'll also discuss forms of community based response that have been utilized to confront sexual violence on a community level. How do we begin to talk about the sexual violence that happens within our spaces as radicals who are opposed to the prison industrial complex and the judicial system?
We will have snacks and tea available.
We'll also provide work books for all participants and will have our distro available with relevant books and zines.
Hope to see you there!
PS: I would also encourage you to check out another part of Sister Solidarity Month featuring Andrea Smith and the Incite! collective, it's called "Living Within the Margin."
