LOCAVORES UNITE!
Do you want to take ethical eating to the next delicious level? Join us on the first Wednesday of each month for the Locavore Corps dinner series.
We'll gather for good food, good conversation, and concrete tools for creating change from farm to fork. Chef Leif Hedendal will present a three-course vegetarian menu sourced from small local producers, while Buy Fresh Buy Local will lead a discussion on our regional foodshed past & present, and offer ideas and tools for local food advocates. Guest speakers on food & sustainability will also be featured.
ABOUT: Buy Fresh Buy Local is a project of the Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF). The campaign helps eaters find and choose local products while building relationships between growers, food artisans, farmers markets, retailers, restaurants, and institutions. Leif Hedendal is a self-educated chef based in San Francisco and passionately committed to food grown, raised, and foraged in the Bay Area. His resume includes Citron, Greens Restaurant, and Imprevist in Barcelona, and he currently serves as chef-ringleader of several underground dining clubs and happenings.
THIS MONTH: On March 4th, Chef Leif Hedendal will talk about the rise of underground dining. The dinner will be held in a private home in El Cerrito.
Cost: $20 CAFF members, $30 non-members. A $50 donation makes you a member of CAFF.
Location: Homes & gathering places around the Bay Area. Do you want to open your home to our group of like-minded eater-activists? The Locavore Corps is always on the lookout for accessible, comfortable spaces with good kitchens.
