Part of the World Centric film series. Please see our website.
Donations requested to cover cost of films and speakers.
Films to be followed by discussion, speakers and socializing.
Seating capacity is about 50 people.
Please feel free to bring food/drinks to share and a cushion as there are a few metal chairs.
Produced and directed by award-winning European journalists and filmmakers Basil Gelpke and Ray McCormack, this film tells the story of how our civilization’s addiction to oil puts it on a collision course with geology. Compelling, intelligent, and highly entertaining, the film visits with the world’s top experts and comes to a startling, but logical conclusion – our industrial society, built on cheap and readily available oil, must be completely re-imagined and overhauled.
(90 min, 2006) Awards: Zurich Film Prize, 2006; Tahoe Int’l Film Festival, 2007; Galway Int’l Film Festival, 2006; Catalan Environmental Film Festival, 2007; Telluride Mountain Film Festival, 2007, Palm Beach Int’l Film Festival, 2007
