Teacher, activist, author, media producer and therapist, Helen Grieco, will present a free lecture, “Empowering Ourselves and Our Daughters,” once on Thursday, February 19th, and again on Tuesday, February 24th, both from 6:30pm to 8:30 pm, at Ladies Who Launch in, San Francisco, 2762 A Octavia near Union Street. Grieco will talk about how to increase personal safety, how to examine personal psychology, relationships, and attitudes about body image and finance. She invites all women to this event, and strongly encourages moms with their teenage daughters to attend. This event is free. Grieco is the founder of the SHE Institute, which trains women and girls to be safer, healthier, economically independent advocates and leaders. She founded "Defending Ourselves Self-Defense School," where she trained thousands of women and girls. She has more than twenty years experience as an individual and group counselor and was an active member of the National Organization for Women (NOW) for 25 years, including serving as the California president. She is an author and producer of educational media for women and girls.
