Two sides Talk and Shout at Gaza Demo
Pro-Palestine demonstrators came out for the 3rd week in a row in San Jose, numbering around 800, slightly down from previous weeks' attendance of over 1,000.
For the first time pro-Israel counter-protesters showed up in significant numbers, although they were outnumbered by about three to one. For most of the three hour demo the two sides stayed pretty much on their own corners....pro-Palestine on three corners and pro-Israel on just one. But at different times demonstrators crossed the intersection convening on the same street corner where discussions ranged from calm to heated. The San Jose Police Department had a heavy presence and a big headache trying to keep the groups apart.
