Chile stands as one of South America's most stable and prosperous nations. As the Obama administration prepares to build greater economic and political ties with Latin America, Chile remains a valuable ally. Ambassador Mariano Fernandez Amunategui gives an exclusive discussion on the future of Chilean-US relations and what the new US administration might mean to Latin America. Appointed Ambassador of Chile to the US in 2006, he has served in such posts as Ambassador to Great Britain, Spain, Italy and the European Union.
