Attack on East Bay Police Station
On January 1st, 22 year old Oscar Grant was executed by Officer Johannes Mehserle of the BART police in plain view of a number of people while he was laying face down on the ground with his hands behind his back and reportedly handcuffed. Had his death not been captured on film and viewed by millions of people, this would undoubtedly be covered up and justified like the countless others murdered by the pigs in this country every year. Unfortunately for officer Mehserle, this cold blooded execution inspired hundreds of people to fight back against the pigs and the fucked up system they attempt to protect.
We wanted to let everyone know how easy this was to pull off in case you find yourself walking the streets at night and need some ideas how to safely take file your complaint against the pigs. With gloved hands we grabbed some bricks from the neighborhood around the corner. We approached out of view of any cameras, as to not leave them with any identifying images. Pulling on our masks, we casually approached when no cars were driving by and spent a total of 15 seconds hurling the bricks through their thick plate glass windows. We quickly got off the main street and disappeared into the night. This communiqué was written so our attack would not go unreported and was originally posted from a public computer to a website that does not store IP information.
Smash things up in the night! Don’t get caught!
From Athens to the East Bay – the fire of rebellion is spreading.
This is only the beginning.
fight back!!

Do what you feel is right, but do not talk about it, do not brag about it. Let others talk about it. Loose lips sink ships.
Godspeed.
Though the sign says police, and technically it's a Berkeley Police Department substation, that's actually the home base for the parking enforcement officers (aka "meter maids") who ride Cushman scooters around town writing parking tickets. They're unarmed and are not trained or authorized to use force or to do anything else besides writing parking tickets.
Meanwhile, breaking glass sends monies from one fund (tax money given to an insurance company) to another fund (insurance money paid to a contractor replace the glass.) How did the action change the social relationship between the Police (yup - meter maids are still police, even if they are not armed police - just try to attack one and find out what your charges are) and the people?
That's what I love about real anarchists. Like Food Not Bombs, or Critical Mass. These change relationships, challenge fundamental power, and look absolutely ridiculous to suppress. The cops look like they're punching the tar baby when they go after them... but if they wrap up some folks who broke windows, really now - who is going to look at that and cry? How is that window breakage going to show the system is brutal, and how that system can be made obsolete? How is this not bringing a brick to a rifle fight? Using guerrilla tactics without guns is like fucking without a condom. (Suicidal)
Remember Crystalnacht in Germany? Yeah, you know - the one the SA encouraged so that the SS could then supplant them and bring Hitler's power in line with Corporatist agendas? The liquidation of Hitler's mass base and institution of his elitist / military rule? Why would you want to copy that technique? Why wouldn't you want to find out the cellular telephone numbers of all the BART cops and publish that, instead? You know, make the bastards all change up their shit because their paranoia starts waking them up at night... Anyone getting busted for that would look not only smart, but would probably have sympathy from the right audience.
Or how about finding old Johannes and making his hide-E hole a public record? You know, so the Press can contact him promptly...
Or how about publishing the BART card protocols and fare skipping techniques so widely that their fare collection system breaks down, on the demand that they not only fire the persons who trained, hired, and supervised the shooter, but DISARM all of the remaining BART cops?
Whatever you do, it will work a lot better if it can be done by a large group of people after an open discussion. I know that it sounds hard, but having direct consultation is not only pro-anarchy it's a tougher thing to supervise and control than small groups of militant folks.
And mass mobilization is freakin' impossible to fake, unlike small 'militant' groups - which get faked all the time, and hit the wrong targets. Basra Sept 2005, for instance. (Two SAS guys caught with 'arab' gear and explosives by collaborator police in Basra, Iraq)
Good luck, here's hoping we're not saying 'good night' as well.

This explains between pages 19 to 39 how to spoof BART tickets. I suggest that everyone download this- don't worry, it's a clean .pdf file, feel free to scan it- and distribute it. I know it's about the Boston transit system but they use the same hardware that BART uses for fare control.
I take no responsibility for what anyone decides to do with this file, but I'm sure there's a few hackers on here that could make very good use of this information.

....solidarity from greece,we'll meet in the barricades brothers and sisters, keep fighting!
ΜΠΑΤΣΟΙ ΓΟΥΡΟΥΝΙΑ ΔΟΛΟΦΟΝΟΙ
COPS PIGS ASSASINS
Criticalmass is just a bunch of hippies riding around on bikes.
Attacking a policestation is a direct attack on a stateinstitution. It does change things. Imagine if more people started attacking policestations like they do in Greece - you telling me that wouldnt change anything!?!
Keep on doing your actions against the capital and especially don't listen to the trolls that are talking shit about your actions. If you look at their messeges, you can see that they posted their messeges in less than 10 min, probably coming from the same source (police or some liberal fuckwits)
and don't pay attention to liberal douchebags talking about being 'peaceful', revolutionaries don't care about borgouise constitutions which's main purpose is to legitimize this system of explotation, which bans poor people from their basic rights (food, healthcare, education) and on the other hand leaves the murderer cops unpunished. Our legitimacy is coming from the fact that as the opressed people of the world, we have the right to fight back against the opressors. What these liberal douchebags are trying to do is to narrow people's actions down to ineffective levels thus giving legitimacy to the capitalist dictatorship and continue the illusions that USA(=Facist States of Corporations) is the ''land of the free'' and this is an ''isolated accident''.
Continue your fight and dont let these liberal bastards fool you, show the state that they can't get away with their brutality.

The writing sounds stilted and artificial. the description of "how you can do this too" sounds like the writing of someone who's read too much mickey spillane. the guy who says he took pictures of the vandals is obviously full of shit. I mean, who takes pictures of people walking down the street at 3 am?
I wouldn't be surprised if whoever wrote all those nasty responses is the one who posted this chestnut, just so they could have an anarchist straw man to vent their spleen at. whoever wrote all that shit is really painfully ignorant.
If this was done by actual anarchists, I have to say that y'all picked a pretty lousy target, and I'm disapointed that you'd bring the heat to that particular neighborhood. Ordinarily I totally support burning pigmobiles and smashing up cop shops, but this one seems really suspicious.
Also, im sure the people dont give a fuck what the mother of grant thinks because this struggle has allready transcended him and what happened to him (just as it did in Greece by the way). This is about the opression of the policestate, something that everyone of us feel every single day. We dont need hers or anyone elses premition to rebell against it. And anyone who wants to make this about this individual case or the individual cop is a reactionary who is disrupting our struggle. Basta.
...well : revolution starts in the mind if a child..
I am palestinian, I see what the greeks have done in athens, and makes me really proud to be of that medetarrian blood!
you have to take thing in your own hand, they want you to think that you can't make a difference, beleive me these little things do make a difference, its how you show the world that you are not happy with the system is what matters first, then when you win the majority on your side , then you build a better one...I understand that alot of times we end up buying Mcdonalds or starbucks , or can't control where are taxes go and to who.....thats not a reason to stop your revolution, THATS THE REASON TO KEEP IT GOING......... I am palestinian when i walk into a shop to buy water any place here in the arab world and I have no choices but to buy bottled water from nestle' (biggest zionist supporter)...then what do I do, I boyycut....but how about the poor old palestinian lady who doe snot read english and does not know that she just bought water and payed money for a company that buys the bullets for the zionists to kill palestinian children?.....THATS WHY WE CONTINUE THE REVOLUTION...BROTHERS AND SISTERS FROM PALESTINE TO GREECE TO CALIFORNIA..SOLIDARITY ...THAWRA (REVOLUTION IN ARABIC)...
SALAM
But why would those advocating peaceful, legal actions like FNB or Critical Mass not identify themselves? And those like the self-styled "Beast Girl" who presume to know that the people doing these actions have rich parents and trust funds, without claiming to actually know the people involved?
And so what if they do have trust funds and/or better-off parents? It's a good thing when people who are less vulnerable because of their skin color and social class take this kind of risk, rather than leaving the burden of confronting the state and capital on poor Black and indigenous youth. Or maybe fake "anti-elitist" demagogues like "Beast Girl" really do think that it's more righteous for people with class and race privileges to just use those privileges to live comfortably within the system, or only "oppose" it in safe, legal, ineffectual ways.
I'd be happy to have a discussion about tactics with people who support the action as well as those who argue against it on tactical and strategic grounds from an anti-capitalist, anti-state perspective. But until the editors of indybay show both the will and the ability to keep such discussions free of right-wing static, it will be hard to carry on such a discussion here -- which is, I think, the main reason those right-wing trolls post here so much.
Furthermore, that station is for police who deal with parking violations, etc. They are not the same police as the BART police, and any message by attaching them is going to be a bit distant from your core object of concern. Smashing their windows is pretty much the same as smashing the windows of black-owned businesses and small-business owners, which I assume either you or your 'comrades' also did in this past week. Responding to atrocities such as the execution of Grant with more atrocities seems unlikely to be productive, and just hurts more people... innocent people.
Fuck you for trying to subdue and limit our struggle. Fuck you for being unaware servants of this system that kills us.
