Saturday, January 10, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.: The 2008 GGNRA Endangered Species Big Year is officially over, but we still have reason to celebrate the wonders of this great National Park! Join us at the Crissy Field Center for our closing ceremony where we'll hand out the GGNRA Endangered Species Big Year awards, review some of the great things we saw and did during the Big Year, and then head over to the Wildlife Protection Area to see the Western Snowy Plover! Everyone's invited to the closing celebration: we'll provide snacks and beverages, you provide the good company!

Finally this sham will be over and forgotten. Other than the shameless self promotion of its organizer, Brent Plater, what was really accomplished here? Absolutely nada. Meanwhile, Plater continues to polarize the citizenry at large into two opposing factions: those who want to utilize our urban open space for responsible recreational pursuits and those who believe that the urban open space should be off limits to man.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
