How about honoring King's legacy by denouncing and obstructing the wars that the AmeriKKKan empire (which includes Israel) is currently engaged in or threatening to start, and which do a lot more harm on the average day than all this volunteering can make up for in years?
Diverting people's energies into do-gooder activities that don't challenge the capitalist class or the capitalist system in any way does a lot more harm than good to the most oppressed and most needy people of this world.
