Couple Marching Through California to Revoke Prop 8
Marching from Los Angeles to San Francisco to Revoke Prop 8
Valerie Paget and Tracie Jones, a Pasedena couple affected by the passage of Proposition 8, are on a march through California to demonstrate their conviction that the California Supreme Court should revoke Prop 8. They are marching from West Hollywood Park to the California Supreme Court in San Francisco. In coordination with Rick Jacobs of the Courage Campaign, they will deliver a petition to revoke Prop 8 that has been signed by over 250,000 people.
As they march, Valerie and Tracie are carrying their message through every community along their route from Los Angeles to San Francisco, collecting signatures, rallying communities, and gathering personal letters and video testimonies from Californians to bring to the courthouse.
Valerie and Tracie were greeted with a rally sponsored by the Raging Grannies Action League in Palo Alto on December 15. They were joined by students from Stanford University and Palo Alto High School at one of Palo Alto's busiest intersections, the corner of Embarcadero and the historic El Camino Real.
From Palo Alto, the walking duo against Proposition 8 are continuing north to San Francisco, where they will rally on the steps of the California Supreme Court before delivering the petition they carry with them to the court. They plan to arrive in San Francisco at noon on Friday, December 19. Read more
