"The sale of the year...an event not to miss..., attended by groups of art lovers - make that fanatics..." - SF Chronicle
This cult classic crowd pleaser includes 600 works of works of art offered for a fixed price of $160 and an exciting live auction. Enjoy the art and people watching-while green fairies serve absinthe from glass fountains; and delicious local wines, ale and juices are poured with abandon. Lavish hors d'oeuvres, desserts and a chocolate tasting will tempt palates, while guests groove to the rhythms of DJs N!K and Toma.
Big Deal is a great place to meet people in a fun party atmosphere with hundreds of new and seasoned art collectors, students, artists and friends vying for art. Everyone lines up to purchase exceptional paintings, prints, drawings, sculpture and photographs on a first-come, first served basis. Late-comers will have hundreds of appealing works of art to choose from. Proceeds benefit Visual Aid's programs for artists with AIDS, Breast Cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
The auction features fabulous works by Christo, Rex Ray, Shepard Fairey, William Wiley, Paul Gibson, Aondrea Maynard, Anne Veraldi, Mike Kimball, Sylvia Poloto, Binh Danh, Elena Zolotnitsky, Mark Paron, David King, Igor Josifov, Enrique Chagoya, Donald Bradford, David Gilhooly, Matt Gonzalez, Inez Storer, Annie Sprinkle and Elizabeth Stephens and more. The silent auction includes special treasures donated by some of the region's top wineries, hotels, jewelers and spas.
A host of important Bay Area artists donated their gorgeous works to the fixed price sale, including Leslie Lusardi, Brian McDonald, Mel Prest, Leo Bersamina, Kevin Mosley, J. John Priola, Saundra McPherson, Charles Gute, Mitch Confer, Tom Bolles, Martine Jardel, Taraneh Hemami, David Liittschwager, Addie Shevlin, Bill Bowers, Maya Hayuk, Scott MacLeod, U.B. Morgan and many more. Donations accepted through November 7th.
