Farm Sanctuary, the nation’s leading farm animal protection organization, invites all to attend its 23rd annual Celebration FOR the Turkeys at its Orland shelter. Every year, Farm Sanctuary encourages people to save a life at Thanksgiving through its Adopt-A-Turkey Project. Attendees of the Celebration will have the chance to spend time with other compassionate people, enjoy delectable vegan versions of favorite holiday foods, and listen to inspirational speakers. The highlight of the Celebration is the Feeding of the Turkeys Ceremony where rescued turkeys, the guests of honor, are presented with a feast of lettuce, cranberries, cooked squash and pumpkin pie.
This year’s speakers include Bones actress and farm animal advocate Emily Deschanel, Herbivore Magazine Founder Josh Hooten, and Farm Sanctuary President, Co-founder and Best-selling Author Gene Baur.
Registration fee is $40 per person and includes a catered, vegan holiday dinner. Deadline for registration is November 14, 2008. To register, call 607-583-2225 ext. 221 or visit farmsanctuary.org.
