Building a Compassionate Justice System Using Restorative Circles

This weekend workshop will present the Restorative Justice Circles approach developed and applied in Brazilian justice and education systems. Engaging with the challenge of consciously building whole system responses to community well-being has opened up revolutionary possibilities for furthering a culture of peace.

The practice will be grounded in a step-by-step process and illustrated through examples, including video of live Restorative Circle sessions. Application in different social contexts will be explored, such as in education, neighborhood groups, families and business.

This workshop will be led by Dominic Barter, who works as training program director for the Brazilian Restorative Justice projects, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program, the Brazilian Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education and Special Secretariat for Human Rights.

Sliding Scale: $175 - $380. (Or whatever you can contribute. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.)

Hosted by Bay Area Nonviolent Communication, a nonprofit educational organization.
