Shut up and eat your clones ...
With the casual admission that meat from cloned animals
have entered the Canadian food supply despite a Health
Canada ban, we are once again faced with a choice: Will
we stand up and demand that this food is clearly labeled or
will we allow it to be quietly slipped into the food chain in
the same way GMO food was in the 1990s? Once again,
a potentially dangerous new biotechnology is threatening
us where we are most vulnerable: our dinner plate.

Rising Tide Bay Area movie and film screening- "Beyond the Election: Building a Bay Area Radical Climate Movement"
Where: The Pirate Cat, 2781 21st Street (21st and Florida)
When: Wednesday Oct 22 at 7:30pm
What: Rising Tide Bay Area Film Screening, Discussion and Organizing Meeting.
Contact:sparki [at] riseup.net or matt [at]
risingtidenorthamerica.org
Tired of the McPalin and Obiden lovefest around "Clean Coal," nuclear
and other fossil fuels? Thinking we can do better than "Drill, Baby,
Drill?" Want to challenge Corporate America's false solutions to climate
change? Do you want to connect the dots between social justice issues
and climate change?
It's time to move past the elections and begin building a grassroots
radical climate movement here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Chevron,
PG&E and a host of other climate destroying energy companies are either
headquartered here or have operations here. In Richmond, Chevron's
refinery is processing oil from conflict zones all over the world while
poisoning the local community and emitting tons of carbon into the
atmosphere.
If we want climate criminals, we don't have to look very far. For
solutions, we need to look beyond elections and politicians and build a
grassroots climate movement to uproot the foundations of climate change
and climate injustice.
Rising Tide is an international network of climate activists working on
radical solutions to climate change using things like community
solidarity, direct action and Climate Convergences to forward those
goals. You can check out RT's principles here-
http://www.risingtidenorthamerica.org/wordpress/principles/
A local chapter has recently formed--Rising Tide Bay Area. Rising Tide
Bay Area is having a film screening (short), discussion and organizing
meeting on Wedsnesday, Oct 22 at 7:30pm at the Pirate Cat in the
Mission. To get plugged in, just show up.
Join our activist list serve to plug into local grassroots activities at

THE BIG ONE -- THURS, OCT 23, noon A NEW POLITICAL PARTY LEVITATING THE PENTAGON -- 1967
The Big One ("Float the Chron #6) will take place in front of the San
Francisco Chronicle Building, Thursday, October 23, 12-1 pm. Address:
901 Mission St (Fifth and Mission Streets) -- one block from Market
Street and the Powell Street BART station. Bring placards.
IF YOU BELIEVE YOU CAN BE THERE, please send me an email with
"Confirm" in the subject line, and if you're bringing people with you,
please let me know how many. When I tell the media that we're going to
ring the Chronicle, I'd like to be telling the truth as I know it. We
need 200 people to form a solid ring around the Chronicle (earlier I
said we needed 300 people, but that was when the plan was to stand
shoulder-to-shoulder -- we've now evolved to walking circles), but I
don't see any reason why we can't have a really huge crowd for this one.
