During hard economic times, civil rights issues face an uphill battle. There is a 20% undecided or constantly changing vote. WE CAN DEFEAT PROP 8 IF WE PUSH NO ON 8 VOTERS TO THE POLLS, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.
San Francisco's No on 8 office at 2278 Market Street has Saturday rallies at 10 a.m. and on October 11, after the rally, there is phonebanking. As with any campaign, there are a thousand things to do, including phonebanking, precinct walking, preparing packets for precinct walking and fundraising. The campaign needs $10 million to reach the 27 million adults in California via TV ads and mailers. SAN FRANCISCO AND LOS ANGELES ARE CRUCIAL TO DEFEATING PROP 8. And beyond, ALL COASTAL COUNTY VOTERS MUST VOTE, especially from Santa Cruz to the Oregon border and Los Angeles County.
WE CANNOT AFFORD TO LOSE GAY MARRIAGE. The gay rights battle must not be lost in California. Too many people have given their lives to ending the horrifying scapegoating of gays that harms us all, both gay and straight.
ALL THE SYMPATHETIC CAMPAIGNS such as the Cindy Sheehan for Congress campaign are also pushing people to the polls. PLEASE PARTICIPATE NOW IN PUSHING NO ON 8 VOTERS TO THE POLLS. AND BE SURE TO VOTE NO ON 8!
