An activist has a trial next week for his alleged involvement in the Stop Cal Vivisection campaign, and alleged participation in a demonstration that took place outside the South Berkeley home of UC Berkeley Capital Projects' Robert Bluhm. Joseph is facing two misdemeanor charges - disturbing the peace and trespassing. He was offered a plea deal of two years probation, a day in jail, and a stayaway order from the Kelsey St. residence, which he refused.

If you're free on Monday, please show support by attending the first day of trial. Please dress in an appropriate manner, and behave professionally.

UC Berkeley is responsible for the confinement and torture of 40,000 non-human animals at ANY GIVEN TIME and they are seeking to increase the Northwest Animal Facility by seventy percent with the addition of the Li Ka-Shing Center for Biomedical and Health Sciences, currently under construction at University Ave. and Oxford Way, and scheduled for completion in March 2010.
