WORLD TRUST invites you to join us to engage in community building practices and presentations on social justice work that emanates from the Bay Area. Plus, in the evening, you will see preview clips and engage in dialogue prompted by our current film project "Cracking the Codes". This promises to be a provocative film that will generate needed exploration into the topic of internalized privilege and internalized racism.
FACING THE MOUNTAINS is a symposium for anyone who understands, or wants to understand, why it is important to make race an explicit part of our general discourse and actions. It is for people who want to learn, build and/or create new collaborative strategies aimed at creating a more equitable society.
Our objectives are two-fold:
1) To build community among people who care about social justice, in tandem with presenting some of the many ways that organizations are working to bring about equitable change.
2) To intentionally make space for "breakthroughs" or insights that can help navigate the complexities of race, in tandem with building a deeper understanding about our indelible connection to one another, and to our respective work.
Day workshops only ($35)
Evening dialogue only ($25)
Full day, workshop/dialogue ($50)
