Ambassador Juan Carlos Capuñay, Executive Director, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in conversation with George Scalise, President of Semiconductor Industry Association
In the lead up to the 16th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders’ Meeting in Lima, Peru, the Council welcomes Ambassador Juan Carlos Capuñay. With a look to the objectives of this year’s APEC Forum-to renew the commitment to Asia-Pacific development-Ambassador Capuñay will discuss progress toward facilitating greater economic cooperation across the region and the long-term prospect for a Free Trade Area of the Asia- Pacific. Before his appointment to the APEC Secretariat, Ambassador Capuñay was Peru’s Senior Official to APEC and a diplomat in the Peruvian Foreign Service with posts in China, Singapore, Japan, the United Nations and the Organization of American States.
