'Cruz' the Ridge Trail through the Santa Cruz Mountains
Join fellow trail enthusiasts on the 3rd Annual Ridge Trail Cruz to hike or ride through the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains. Come celebrate and enjoy the Bay Area Ridge Trail, while supporting it's completion. This multi-use event has a variety of hiking and riding options, including a special family hike, and all offer scenic trails with gorgeous vistas. You can challenge yourself with a long hike or ride, or take a leisurely family stroll,
Registration
This is a fully supported event with breakfast, lunch, snacks, water, route leaders, and maps provided. Communications and first aid support have been arranged. Hikers will be transported by bus for a one-way hike. Advance registration is required and attendance is limited, please register promptly.

Hikes: There are hike options of 22, 13, 12, and 8 miles, as well as a Family Hike. All longer hikes are challenging with at least 1000 feet of elevation gain with many ups and downs.
Horseback Rides: Equestrians will have a choice of rides, from ~10 miles to ~ 23 miles, with varying amounts of climbing. All routes have a mix of fire roads and singletrack riding.
Mountain Bike Rides: Two bike rides are offered, an Advanced and an Intermediate. Both are challenging and have a mix of fire roads and singletrack riding.
Help Raise Funds to Complete the Ridge Trail
Participants can join the "Cruz-a-thon" and support the Ridge Trail. Ask your friends and colleagues to sponsor you at $1, $5, or $10 per mile. All fundraisers get the colorful BARTC bandana. Raise $50 or more and get the new (2008) Bay Area Ridge Trail: The Official Guide by Jean Rusmore. Top fundraisers will win prizes donated by REI. Visit the Cruz-a-thon page for more details.
