Photos from the RNC 2008
Photo documentation from the opening day of the RNC-
On September 1 2008 people from all over the country came to St Paul to protest the RNC. The actions of the police throughout the day should be seen as a violent act of aggression to all people. Their brutality towards anti war protesters was nothing new.... in confrontations with the state such as this it becomes clear which side you are on. Please notice the lengths to which the police protect/ harbor delegates...while throughout the day I personally witnessed numerous outrageous acts of police brutality. The police systematically trapped people who were there to peacefully protest from participating in the permitted march. They picked off people on the street who looked as though they might be protesters.
Today many people are still sitting at Ramsey county jail awaiting their arraignment, including my best friend who was there documenting this historical event. The real criminals are the "law enforcement" authorities, who have systematically violated the free speech rights of protesters, and in more than a few cases carried out physical abuse.
