"Slow Food Nation Considered" will bring together key participants of Slow Food Nation to reflect on the conference's influence and ramifications. The forum will feature Michael Pollan, author of "In Defense of Food" and Knight Professor of Journalism at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, Vandana Shiva, Vice President of Slow Food International and founder of Navdanya, Fred Kirschenmann, organic farmer and Distinguished Fellow for the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture, and Raj Patel, author of "Stuffed and Starved" and visiting scholar in the UC Berkeley Center for African Studies. Moderated by Richard Walker, Professor of Geography at UC Berkeley, these distinguished panelists will assess Slow Food Nation with regard to the world food crisis, and discuss how we can proceed toward a more just and healthy food future.
