City Council Candidates will present their positions on sustainable transportation measures, including alternatives to building a 5-story $42million parking garage at Cedar/Cathcart, site of the Farmers Market. The alternatives advocated by event sponsors include free bus passes for downtown employees, emergency taxi vouchers, credit at bike stores, and cash for employees who use alternatives to the auto in their commute. Event sponsors are Campaign for Sensible Transportation, http://www.sensibletransportion.org; People Power, and Committee for a Vibrant Downtown.
