A cross-section of local artists, DJ's, dancers and politicians will be on hand to celebrate the opening of District 9 candidate for Supervisor Mark Sanchez' campaign office.
DJ Meejee & DJ Teddy Rucka will keep the beat going while Queen of Bellydancing, Neesha Gupta and Stephanie Haiti entertain with performances. The politics will be provided by Assemblyperson Mark Leno and District 5 Supervisor Ross
Mirkarimi, both of whom have endorsed Sanchez and will be speaking at the event. Local artists Velvet Valentine, Kottie Paloma, Mitchiko, Jarad Stein, KIMiko and Shadi Rahimi have donated works ranging from sculpture to paintings. Paz de la Calzada, a longtime member of the Mission artist community, will be doing live painting at the event.
Refreshments from local favorite El Metate will be served, and the festivities will go on until 11 p.m. The space is both disabled and bicycle accessible, and attendees are encouraged to bring their wheels inside.
