Cindy Sheehan: No Thanks to the System, but Thanks to the Homeless

by Cindy Sheehan (repost)
Cindy Sheehan needs your help NOW to get on the ballot this November.

In this brief message sent out to supporters at 1 pm today-- Cindy describes the challenge-- and thanks San Francisco's homeless population who "get it"-- who understand how the system really works.

Get Peace on the Ballotathon...EMERGENCY!! EMERGENCY!!

The percentage of "valid" signatures that the SF Department of Elections are allowing is getting lower and lower as we get closer to our goal.

We turned in 1932 on Monday and they invalidated 49% of the signatures.

We turned in 425 yesterday and they invalidated 78% of them. The thing about that, is that I personally checked every signature in that batch, and I came up with a 55-60 percent valid rate.

We figure at this rate, we need to turn in 3000 by tomorrow at 5pm.

HELP! HELP! HELP! We have 24 hours......

The disenfranchisement of the homeless population here in SF is criminal and this is obviously the population that is strongly in support of my campaign because they are the ones that have been screwed over the most by this (cyst)em and they know the people in power are only there to preserve their power, not help the people who need to be helped.

Please forward this email to everyone that you know....and every media outlet that you know.

We are going to do it because we are not going to let down the thousands of people who support our campaign and know that it is urgent to get the people's voice on the ballot and in Congress!

Our office will be open until we get the 3,000.

While the Crunch for validated petition signatures is on-- Cindy obviously could not thank everyone who has helped--

Who else?

Truly almost everyone who has been abandoned or abused: especially prostitutes, transgendered, poor of all catagories and races-- my guess, everyone who would be welcome at the table of Jesus H. Christ himself.

And those who won't sign or help-- victims of fear. Fear that they, perhaps, could be homeless in 2 weeks.

Or, fear that helping an independent will make them "homeless" from the political parties and associations that validate their worldview-- but have in truth accomplished virtually zilch in the eight years since Bush first stole his first presidential election.

Well folks, Cindy has less than 2 days to get the petition signatures she needs. And irregardless, no one is going to Disney World.

There is possibly no other petition measure more important in this country at this point in history.

Help Cindy-- she gave the antiwar movement the shot in the arm it needed by reminding people that we actually had a war "on". She was made homeless-- when she realized Democrats (with guns to their heads?)-- were not helping her.

But the good times that blinded some of us were too good, weren't they?

How many of us, other than Cindy, had time to think and actually do something REAL about the bombs dropping on innocent families in the Middle East (and elsewhere)? According to Peter Phillips of Project Censored: A million Iraqis are in their graves-- with 10 X that number maimed or wounded.

Who, besides Cindy, truly cared about the flag-draped coffins coming home and the thousands of American casualties?

Since Inauguration Day, 2001-- all these years of questionable elections with no clear accounting!

Since september 11, 2001-- all these years of mayhem and horror!

For what?

ALL FOR LIES! WITH IMPEACHMENT "OFF THE TABLE"!

Shortly after 3pm - today - August 8, 2008 the San Francisco County Department of Elections called the Cindy for Congress Office to officially inform Cindy Sheehan that she had qualified for the ballot for the upcoming November 4 2008 General Election.

Cindy will face Speaker Nancy Pelosi and two other marginal candidates in the race for US Congress in California's 8th Congressional District.

Peace is on the ballot in San Francisco and running against the Speaker of the House, who has coordinated the funding of the War Against Iraq with over 400 Billion Dollars of US Taxpayer money! So ask yourself.... Are you finally ready to Give Peace A Chance?
