During the first visit of a high-level delegation from Azerbaijan to California, Members of Parliament Asim Mollazada and Ganira Pashayeva will join the Council to discuss Azerbaijan’s development since independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. With a look to Azerbaijan’s emergence as a moderate Muslim nation, they will consider progress toward promoting gender equality and their position of expanding political liberalism.
