The Reedley Peace Center presents speaker: Lisa Schirch, Founder of Washington, DC based 3D Security Initiative, and professor of Peace Studies at Eastern Mennonite University. Topic: Upsidedown Security and Peacebuilding: Lisa will share stories of building peace and security from the ground up in war zones like Iraq, Liberia, Sri Lanka and here in the US. She'll talk about the need to change the way we think about security - away from a military concept toward a human security framework that looks at how humans can live sustainably with each other and the environment.
Light potluck at 6:30. Program begins at 7 pm. This event is sponsored by the Reedley Peace Center and will be held at the Fellowship Hall of First Mennonite Church, on 'L' street between 12th and 13th streets in Reedley. Admission is free. Contact Don Friesen by email at dfriesen0 [at] gmail.com
