This might be a way to get food and water to the Berkeley tree sitters.
Take a plastic grocery bag, put two food items of equal weight in each side of the bottom of the bag, twist and tape in the middle. throw from distance to tree branch.

I haven't tried it yet with water bottles, works well with yellow onions.
