Hello everyone,
Please bring signs expressing opposition to any kind of hostility toward Iran, and please gather at the corner(s) of 20th and J Street, IN SACRAMENTO, this Saturday from 7pm to 9pm during the peak hours of the 2nd Saturday art walk.
As mentioned in the Sacramento Bee Wednesday, the crowds have grown exponentially at these monthly art walks, especially during the summer. Thousands of people will be at the art walk this Saturday, so there is a great opportunity for dialogue and for displaying messages opposing the United States' and Israel's continual harassment of Iran.
The people who attend the art walks need to be informed about the catastrophic but realistic potential that we might soon find ourselves in another war. We're all hearing the antagonistic rhetoric from George Bush, Congress, the Senate, the two main presidential candidates, AIPAC (the pro-Israel lobby), and especially the media.
Again, please bring signs, banners, displays, etc., concerning U.S. policy with Iran or those responsible for it. This is specifically about Iran and not about presidential candidates.
Note also that we need to be sure to allow for the free flow of traffic on any sidewalks where we gather with our messages. This is a great opportunity for vibrant political speech in a dynamic environment.
We hope to see you there.
Stephen & Virginia Pearcy
