ACLU Sues Denver for Security Equipment Details Ahead of DNC

Monday, June 30, 2008 :As Denver gears up for the Democratic National Convention later this summer, the federal government has allocated $50 million for security-related expenses connected to the convention. Denver has revealed that $18 million is budgeted for equipment purchases, but most of the details remain secret, prompting the ACLU to file a civil lawsuit. We speak with the legal director of the Colorado ACLU, Mark Silverstein.

The ACLU has filed three lawsuits relating to the rights of the public at the convention. Mark Silverstein, Legal Director of the Colorado ACLU, joins me here in Denver.
