Viernes Cultural of Watsonville will be hosting this free event at the Watsonville Downtown Plaza. The community is invited to participate in a public celebration of the Watsonville cannery strike and to honor the struggles of the cannery workers from 1985-1987. Participants will enjoy the music, song, and poetry of local performing artists as well as invited speakers. The former strikers will lead a procession at 6:30pm to the Pajaro Valley Gallery .
The Pajaro Valley Gallery will also be holding its Opening Reception for the "Remembering the Struggle" art exhibit on August 1st at 7pm at 37 Sudden Street, Watsonville, CA 95076.
