More sights and sounds from Reclaim the Streets against Prop 98
On May 31st, Reclaim the Streets SF reclaimed the streets of the Mission with an unpermitted street party to spread the word "vote NO" on 98, the measure funded by landlords to end rent control in California.
Originally formed in London in Autumn 1991 as huge anti-car street parties, RTS is a worldwide "dis-organization" promoting the ideal of community ownership of public spaces, and a part of the resistance movement opposing the dominance of corporate forces in our communities and globally.

So how many cops does it take to unscrew a flowerpot???
Three Cops. One to walk over, a second one to radio the supervisor, and a third shop steward to say that moving the pot violates union regulations....
and so the city workers arrive 3 hours later and dispatch 3 more people to remove the obstruction in the road, of course after an extensive report has been made....and the city gets billed a nifty 500 bucks for misplaced sense of "civic duty!"
