Orangutans only exist in Indonesian forests. Because of the palm oil industry (and many other reasons), the Orangutans and their habitats are disappearing rapidly. Orang Utan Republik Education Initiative (OUREI), is shooting a documentary in Borneo this summer. We want to help this NGO raise money for the project. Come to this fundraising event and donate whatever you can to help. There'll be Indonesian dinner and coffee, plus there will be Balinese music performed by the delightful San Francisco ensemble, Gamelan KoriMas. Dr. Gary Shapiro, co-founder of OUREI will make a presentation about orangutans in Indonesia and the current issues facing their existence.
FREE EVENT. RSVP required. Email: Team [at] gotoindo.com
Children are encouraged to come. Contributions are tax deductible. If you can't make it to the event but would like to contribute, please contact OUREI for a contribution form at http://www.orangutanrepublik.org
