Dr. Rivera-Pinderhughes is a professor of Urban Studies at San Francisco State University and is an expert on green collar jobs, coining the term in 2004 to describe manual labor jobs related to improvements in environmental quality. Dr. Rivera-Pinderhughes will discuss her research, including the landmark study, Green Collar Jobs: An Analysis of the Capacity of Green Business to Provide High Quality Jobs for Men and Women with Barriers to Employment. Following her presentation, Dr. Rivera-Pinderhughes will lead a discussion about the potential to harness green business growth to fight both pollution and poverty. Wine and Hors d'oeuvres will be provided. This will be a Zero Waste event. Presented by Women's Environmental Network (WEN).
