Is the US preparing to attack Iran -- possibly in conjunction with Israeli attacks in Gaza, Lebanon and/or Syria -- in the coming months, perhaps even weeks?

Signs of US belligerence toward Iran are escalating -- all top Bush officials are now claiming Iran is waging a "proxy war" in Iraq, is "hell-bent" on building nuclear weapons, is the world's leading sponsor of "terrorism," and is preventing Middle East peace. There have been ominous military moves in the region, and six weeks ago Bush signed a secret order authorizing covert actions against Iran, from Lebanon to Afghanistan. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff warns, the US is considering its military options and not out of military "capacity."

We'll discuss:
Is Bush a "lame duck," or should we take these threats very seriously?
What's driving US threats against Iran and the whole "war on terror"?
What is Israel's role?
Why attacking Iran would be a criminal act of aggression under any circumstances.
Will the Democrats stop it?
What are the regional and global implications of a US attack?
What should people be doing to stop this -- now?
What does all this say about the current political-economic system, and the urgent need --and possibility-- for revolution and communism?

Anti-imperialists need to support struggles around the world against the U.S.-Israel Axis. In particular, it is necessary to come to the defense of Hezbollah in their struggle, albeit equivocal, against the pro-Axis government of Lebanon. But even more important is to spread anti-Axis direct action of all kinds to as many places as possible.

Whatever U.S. capitalist interests are quietly supporting the U.S. wars in Iraq and Somalia, and the threats against Iran and Hezbollah (both the oil companies and the arms makers have benefitted greatly), the main political force pushing for such wars is the Israel Lobby. Failure to acknowledge this, and fear of being labeled "anti-semitic" for doing so, is one of the great impediments to fighting the Axis.
