stop the raids and deportation of immigrants!
Berkeley High students gathered today at the Berkeley City Council to voice their opposition to the ICE attacks in the east bay. Yesterday morning, ICE vans and ICE agents have been seen near Berkeley High, Stonehurst Elementary in Oakland, and Nystrom Elementary in Oakland. ICE police have also questioned two students at Berkeley City College. This led to students in Berkeley High hiding in their class rooms and being escorted by staff on their way home.
ICE police have also entered the home of a former BHS, arresting his mother, auntie, and grandparents. They were release nine hours later, but are still facing legal action.
I talked to some of the kids, who said that ICE agents stop by the school and started yelling “La Migra” waiting to see who would start running.
