Forum & Discussion
Friday, May 9, 7pm
RACISM & THE U.S. ELECTIONS
Gloria La Riva, PSL presidential candidate
"Rev. Wright is right!"
For daring to speak truthfully about racism and U.S. imperialism, Barack Obama's former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright has become the subject of vicious attacks by the big business media. Obama has joined Hillary Clinton and others in denouncing Rev. Wright’s statements.
What has sent the corporate media into such a frenzied attack against Wright? Will Obama’s campaign be a step forward toward racial justice in this country? What is required of a capitalist candidate to get support from the ruling elite? Join us for an important discussion about racism and the capitalist elections, with a talk by Gloria La Riva.
ALSO: 60 YEARS OF PALESTINIAN RESISTANCE
Nathalie Hrizi, PSL Congressional candidate (12th AD)
Join us to commemorate 60 years of struggle and resistance on the anniversary of Al Nakba, Arabic for “the catastrophe,” which marks the expulsion, dispossession and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people, with a report by Nathalie Hrizi.
