The Power of Nightmares: The Rise of the Politics of Fear, is the highly acclaimed, award-winning BBC documentary series by Adam Curtis.
The series of 3 films chronicles the history of the Neo-Conservative movement and the growth of its symbiotic mirror, the radical Islamist movement. It argues convincingly that the threat of radical Islamism as a massive, sinister organised force of destruction, specifically in the form of al-Qaeda, is in fact a manichean myth invented by the Neo-conservatives in an attempt to frighten, manipulate and control the population to further their political aims.
"Painstakingly assembled evidence, that heightens and cleanses your perceptions" Entertainment Weekly
"A superb, eye-opening, funny deconstruction of the myths and realities of global terrorism." Variety
"Arguably the most important film about the 'war on terrorism'." The Nation
"Absurdity." FoxNews.com
