Berkeley Copwatch presents....

a film screening of
"THESE STREETS ARE WATCHING"

Friday May 30; 7-9 pm
Grassroots House, 2022 Blake St, Berkeley
(wheelchair accessible)

Join Berkeley Copwatch for a free screening and discussion of "These Streets are Watching," a 50 minute video that takes a fresh look at police accountability through the eyes of three communities: Denver, Cincinnati and Berkeley. Independent filmmaker, Jacob Crawford, weaves three cities' responses to police brutality into a single tale of community empowerment and direct action. The film is divided into sections that explain our basic rights, tactics for documenting police activity and ideas for further action and organizing.

For more info on the film, visit: http://www.berkeleycopwatch.org/merchandise.htm

This film screening will be a way for community members to learn more about Berkeley Copwatch and connect with others who attended our WEEK OF KNOW YOUR RIGHTS AND COPWATCHING TRAININGS! (see below)

------------------
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS AND COPWATCHING TRAINING WEEK!!!

How do you know if you're being detained?
When do you have the right to refuse a search of your belongings? of your car?
What does it mean to observe the police?
How effective is Copwatching?

Join Berkeley Copwatch for a free hands-on training to learn about your basic rights with the police as well as how to effectively observe police interactions.

After each training, Berkeley Copwatch will go on a Copwatching shift so you can put your new skills to use! (shift is not required to attend training)
