ANSWER Activist Meeting
Reporting to Congress, Gen. Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker used the troop “draw down” as evidence of “progress.” But the reality is that by July 2008, the number of U.S. troops in Iraq will be back to pre-surge levels, when the Congressional elections strongly indicated the sentiment of the majority is to end the war. Hear an analysis of the U.S. occupation of Iraq, now in its sixth year, and why Washington intends to keep troops there indefinitely in pursuit of its goals of expanding empire.
Also, a report on May 1st immigrant rights actions and the ILWU work stoppage and anti-war rally.
