French snuff Tyranny Torch
[ biased opinion by Tortuga Bi LIBERTY ]
......
......
[ personal opinion:]
I'm FOR the Olympic Games,
and FOR the Chinese people.
Meanwhile, I'm AGAINST the tyrannical CCP clique
which oppresses the people of mainland China,
Tibet, Myanmar, Darfur, et cetera.
Just as I'm FOR the American people,
while being AGAINST the Bush regime.
As for the Olympic torch, my views are shifting.
A few days ago, I was hoping that the torch would draw
peaceful protesters against tyranny;
but I still hoped that nobody would actually snuff it out.
Yet now, after the recent events in London and Paris,
I'm glad that the anti-tyranny protestors won.
Each Olympic torch symbolizes BOTH the international
Olympic movement AND the host country.
If China didn't wish
to have its tyranny questioned,
it could have refrained from bidding to host the 2008 Olympics.
Instead, China wanted to show off its economic progress
as a capitalist economy --
while hoping to avoid criticism of its fascist government.
( Yes, "fascist" -- as in
"Stalinism minus socialism equals fascism".)
So let the protestors snuff the torch
(if they can do so WITHOUT injuring anyone);
and let athletes and other guests boycott the opening ceremony.
But when the actual athletic contests begin,
THEN I hope each athlete will compete,
regardless of her or his
opinion about tyranny.

SAN FRANCISCO:
Meanwhile,
what will happen in SF?
....
I think Tuesday will be peaceful;
and I hope to attend peaceful events then.
....
As for Wednesday, who knows?
There may be various groups trying to block
(or at least to denounce)
the official Olympic Torch;
which in 2008 represents Chinese tyranny.
There may be alternative "torches" too --
carried by Tibetans, nudes4peace, or others.
I hope that neither protesters
nor police
will injure anyone.
Qweirdly yours,
