A FREE TIBET: FREEDOM FOR WHOM?

Recently the U.S. media has portrayed a shocking Chinese army crackdown on peaceful protests by Buddhist monks seeking freedom and democracy in Tibet. But a closer look reveals violent riots against ethnic Han Chinese residents by Tibetan separatists, supported by the U.S. and other imperialist governments. Many U.S. progressives and liberals are supporting the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan opposition to the People's Republic of China. Also supporting this campaign are George W. Bush, Rush Limbaugh, the CIA and every other pro-imperialist government and media outlet. The majority of people in China, along with many in Tibet, oppose this U.S.-supported movement.

What are the real aspirations of the leaders of the “Free Tibet” movement? How does this struggle relate to the international situation? Who is the Dalai Lama and what are his ties to U.S. imperialism? Hear a Marxist analysis of the current struggle in Tibet, as well as the history of Tibet under the old feudal theocracy and its development since the 1949 Chinese Revolution.

This looks like a real hack job: Per their website:

"racist demonization effort, supposedly because of concern for “human rights.”

How is it that Americans supporting a movement led by Tibetans is "racist"? Duh.
In fact, Beijing is the racist.

"This is the same government that is directly responsible for the death of one million Iraqis"

That is a red herring. Most of us who are supporting His Holiness and the struggle of the people of Tibet are also opposed to the Iraq war.

"While one out of every three Iraqis have been killed, wounded or displaced since 2003 "

thus the PSL spins totally off the topic and this therefore is the end of my critique.

Also, I had until now respected Ramsey Clark, who now shows his true colors as a hack for god knows what ultimate motive...
