The City of Santa Cruz has overstepped their jurisdiction by creating and selectively enforcing unconstitutional ordinances in order to "clean the streets" of anyone they take offense with. We are remaining civilly disobedient by peacefully protesting the ordinances.

These ordinances include(but are not limited to) the parking lot panic law, which makes it effectively illegal to be on public property; and the sleeping ban, which allows police to terrorize people sleeping outside at night; Mayor Coonerty Jr.'s Agenda Gag Rule, which controls the subjects spoken on in city council meetings.

This isn't about sides or politics, and it certainly isn't fair to blame the low ranking officers who enforce these laws. These city measures, laws and ordinances are out of the jurisdiction of the state, let alone a city and directly violate our essential right to the pursuit of happiness, our first amendment rights of speech, peaceable assembly. It doesn't matter how you look at it: Abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and terrorizing those who do assemble, is unconstitutional, treasonous, illegal, terrorism and against the law.

So far I have been charged with two ordinances, including trespassing on public property -in parking lot 27.

Please help take a stand. Because when they take public property, what really is there left to stand on?
